In 2012, the Mary Wood Trust launched their B.O.B campaign - to provide Bags Of Basic necessities for the 350 girls at Nyakabungo Girls Secondary School in S W Uganda.
The idea was devised by three of Mary Wood's great granddaughters- Lisa, Jessica and Emily.
During the following 12 months Jess really took up the challenge and ended up raising over £2700 for this campaign. She made and sold bracelets, held a number of cake sales, organised a fun - run at school, busked on her trombone in Northwich, helped organise a concert, held a dress - down day at school and gave presentations at Girl Guides and at a ladies coffee morning in Wilmslow.
In November 2013 Clare and Oliver Ramsden had the great pleasure of handing out all these 'necessities' to the girls at the school. Each girl received a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, body soap, vaseline, clothes washing roap, sanitary towels, toilet paper, biros, exercise books and colouring pencils. They also enjoyed eating meat on one day and in May 2014 they will all be given a towel for when they shower.
Jess really has done an amazing job.
